1955 Chevrolet Pickup
6 cylinder (235 cu in), 4-speed w/compound low
This unique and original 1st series 1955 Chevrolet pickup is mechanically brand new! It is a former farm pickup which always sat in dry garage storage, for nearly 50 years. Upon receipt of the truck I rebuilt all the systems in the pickup to their original condition. Every effort was made to restore to factory or better standards.
Since restoration it has been driven less than 500 miles. With minor rusting, the body is straight. All the fenders and quarter panels are solid and original with minor bumps and bruises you would expect for a truck of this age. The hood was replaced by the former owner. Otherwise it has the original paint and patina. Interior is all original. It even has the original hubcaps! I am the third owner of the pickup. Due to health and injuries I am unable to continue working on the pickup.
Everything is functional and works great on the truck. One note because of the long storage time the gaskets/seals in the transmission starting leaking and needs to be repaired. Cost of seals is $13.95.

– The brakes do not have calipers on the brakes but restored with new drum cylinders.
The bed and interior are original. The bed is solid exception of the broken boards in the picture. Bed replacement kits are available or you could replace the boards and recondition the metal parts, if so desired.
The seat cushion was covered, but the headliner and door upper paper door panels need replacing. All easily done and readily available and inexpensive. I just didn’t get to the interior aesthetics as I was concentration on the mechanical overhaul of the truck. Unfortunately I ended up in the hospital and subsequently work on the truck stop.
Last, while the truck is running and been driven it cannot be driven now until the transmission seals are replaced, as the fluid leaked seeped out.
